SHOUT!’s iconic sound comes from shared roots, and love for New Orleans music and culture, mixed with a diverse and eclectic range of musical and cultural backgrounds; combining the roots of jazz and western popular music, with harmonic and rhythmic techniques borrowed from all across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and South America. Many of SHOUT!’s members are deeply rooted in the Canadian jazz community, having worked with legendary artists like Herbie Hancock, Tom “Bones” Malone, David Liebman, Juini Booth, and Jon Batiste, while also working with international icons across countless other genres, including pop sensations Omi & Shawn Mendes, Hip Hop phenomenons Freddie Gibbs and the Wu-Tang clan, and artists like Ukrainian rock band, the Mad Heads, and legendary African trumpet player, Hugh Masekela. SHOUT!’s iconic sound, and legendary performances have drawn the attention of major players in the music industry, leading to collaborations with names, like Benny Benack III (Postmodern Jukebox), Maurice Brown (Tedeschi Trucks Band), and Anderson .Paak (Free Nationals & Silk Sonic), just to name a few!
